Refugees from Ramadi, central city of Iraq, on Wednesday narrated the atrocities committed by the extremist group IS.
Ramadi, situated 100 km on the West of Baghdad had fallen into the hands of the extremist group in May.
A Ramadi resident, Saadia, said her families always hid themselves in the house since the city fell to Islamic State (IS) in May, this year.
China Central Television (CCTV) reports that the mid-aged woman still lives in great fear.
Another resident, Abbas, who served as government employee, said his life was threatened by the IS as all of Iraqi government employees were recorded when the IS occupied the city.
“At that time, everything was in disorder. Only the ‘law’, the cruel punishment, is above all else. This is the only law. The extremist groups just enjoyed slaughter and bloodshed. My uncle’s child was put into a bag after being killed by them.
He said he hoped the government will overcome the extremist groups as soon as possible.
According to the United Nations, 3 million people have been moved out of Iraq since the beginning of 2014.
